With more than 30 years’ experience as a lighting designer, Ken Daniel has worked on a wide range of projects: museums, art collec - tions, academic buildings, theme parks, casinos, sky - scraper illumination and many others. With a fine arts back - ground, Ken contributes a high degree of artistry to his projects with an interest in unusual lighting applications and custom luminaire design. Ken attended Temple Univer - sity’s Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia and in Rome and began his career as a museum exhi - bitions designer and art consultant during the late 70’s and early 80’s. He was formally introduced to architectural lighting design when he met Jeffery Milham, FIALD, on a corporate project in 1983. In 1990 he established himself as senior level designer with Walt Disney Imagineering where he supervised the design, fabrica - tion and installation of hundreds of custom lighting projects in parks from Tokyo to Paris. Ken is Lighting Certified (LC) by the National Council of Qualifica - tions for Lighting Practitioners (NCQLP) and is a member of the IES, the TEA (Themed Entertainment Association) and is a profes - sional member of the International Association of Lighting Design - ers (IALD). Established in 2015, West Woods Design LLC specializes in light - ing applications design, lighting product design and project management. The company works on a large and varied range of creative and challenging projects in collaboration with clients and project teams to deliver creative and sustainable lighting solutions. We provide expert guidance both from the office and in the field during construction as well as following up with any after action documentation. Located in the Litchfield Hills in the northwestern corner of Connecticut, West Woods Design is within easy striking distance of New York City and Boston with access to 5 international airports within 2 hours travel.
